{"id":146,"date":"2015-01-27T15:18:50","date_gmt":"2015-01-27T15:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ledena-tisina.kcns.org.rs\/?p=146"},"modified":"2015-02-08T22:40:18","modified_gmt":"2015-02-08T22:40:18","slug":"commemorative-plaque-to-the-cura-family-in-king-aleksandar-street","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ledena-tisina.kcns.org.rs\/en\/reports\/commemorative-plaque-to-the-cura-family-in-king-aleksandar-street\/","title":{"rendered":"COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE TO THE \u010cURA FAMILY IN KING ALEKSANDAR STREET"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Placing of the commemorative plaque to the \u010cura family<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 In King Aleksandar Street no. 1, as part of commemoration of 73 years since the Novi Sad Raid, a commemorative plaque was revealed, dedicated to the \u010cura family, 16 members of which were killed on 23 January 1942 in Novi Sad and \u010curug.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2013 We who create politics must develop the culture of remembering, so that we never forget the victims, and we should work on tolerance in order not to repeat these sufferings in the future \u2013 said Vanja Vu\u010denovi\u0107, member of the City Council in charge of culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 The plaque bears names of the victims, and on the bottom is a line by Isidora Sekuli\u0107: \u2019Life may be short, but memory of a life can last forever\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 Writer, lawyer and the president of \u2018Adligat\u2019 association, which launched the initiative to place the plaque, Viktor Lazi\u0107 said that it is his wish to open a museum of Novi Sad Raid, as well as that this commemorative plaque is the first big step towards achieving this goal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u2013 The \u010cura family lost 16 of its members. Nade\u017eda \u010cura and Ljubica Sazdani\u0107 were taken from this building to be brutally murdered.
